Baked Ziti Recipe Vodka Sauce
Cook stirring often until the butter is melted and the garlic is fragrant about 5 minutes.
Baked ziti recipe vodka sauce. Drain water and return pasta to saucepan. Add the tomato puree tomato paste vodka dried basil and oregano salt and pepper. Cook until reduced by one third 2 to 3 minutes more.
Then top with remaining sauce. Stir until bubbly and heated through. Cover and let the mixture simmer on low for about 15 minutes.
Pour pasta mixture into a greased 2 5 quart baking dish and press slightly to even out the top. Drain pasta drizzle with oil and lay in a flat row on a sheet pan to cool. When the pan is hot add the olive oil and sauté the onions and mushrooms until the onions have softened and most of the the moisture has cooked out of the mushrooms about 5 minutes.
Make the vodka sauce. In a medium skillet brown the garlic in melted butter. Pour the partially sauce coated pasta on top.
Then set the sauce aside for the baked ziti. Add the rest of the ingredients except the pasta and vodka. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f.
Add the tomatoes parsley salt and pepper and then cover stirring everything together. Add the onions and cook for 5 7 minutes until translucent. In a medium sized mixing bowl mix sautéed vegetables fresh tomatoes 1 tablespoon fresh parsley add vodka tomato sauce and 1 cup of the low fat mozzarella cheese and mix well.
