Recipe Dutch Oven Roast
Remove from pan and set aside.
Recipe dutch oven roast. Transfer to the slow cooker and then add in the remaining ingredients. Put the lid on the dutch oven then roast for 3 hours for a 3 pound roast or 4 hours for a 4 5 pound roast. Preheat oven to 350 f.
Mix the flour with a generous amount of salt and pepper on a sheet of waxed paper. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees f. Heat oil in a large 6 to 8 quart dutch oven.
Add roast and brown on each side 1 2 minutes per side. Stir in remaining flour to absorb remaining oil. Add 1 3 to 4 pound chuck roast and sear until deep golden brown on all sides including the ends about 5 minutes per side.
Generously salt and pepper the chuck roast. Add the halved onions to the pot browning them. In a pan sear your roast and saute garlic and onions just as you would for this dutch oven recipe.
Heat a dutch oven greased with olive oil over medium high on the stove. You want your roast to be tender and fully cooked through. Place the roast back into the pot and add enough beef broth to cover the meat halfway.
Heat the olive oil in large pot or dutch oven over medium high heat. Instructions arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and heat the oven to 325 f. Heat 3 tablespoons olive oil in a large dutch oven over medium high heat until shimmering.
