Recipe Brussel Sprouts Maple Syrup Bacon
Stir in the maple syrup and cooked bacon pieces at the very end.
Recipe brussel sprouts maple syrup bacon. Let the bacon cook for 2 3 minutes enough to render some fat. Drizzle with olive oil and maple syrup. Using a rubber spatula toss the brussels sprouts with the rendered bacon fat olive oil salt and pepper directly on the baking sheet.
Bring to a boil. Once they re crisp remove them from the pan and pat them dry. Season with salt and black pepper.
In a small skillet cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Slice a bit off the stem end of the brussels sprouts and pull some of the outer leaves off. Get the bacon started in a skillet large enough to hold all the brussels sprouts.
Roast in the preheated oven until bacon is crispy and brussels sprouts are caramelized 45 minutes stirring halfway through. Added maple syrup last 10 minutes to carmelize. Remove to paper towels with a slotted spoon.
Put the brussels and bacon on a foil lined cookie sheet. Stir in the broth pecans maple syrup salt and pepper. Stirred every 5 minutes so brussels cooked in the bacon fat.
In a large skillet saute sprouts in butter until lightly browned 4 5 minutes. Sauté the halved brussels sprouts undisturbed in the bacon drippings with the salt and pepper cut side down for 5 to 8 minutes until they caramelize. Add the sprouts to the pan and season with salt and pepper.
